The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is one of the Kyoto Protocol’s flexibility mechanisms. As a project-based mechanism, it has a dual objective of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, on the one hand, and contributing to the host countries’ sustainable development, on the other.
