Facilitating African Climate Change Adaptation Through Framework Laws

Olivia Rumble

Adaptation to the impacts of climate change has consistently been a priority for African countries. Traditionally this issue has been expressed in policy instruments however a number of recent draft and final framework climate change laws in the region suggest a growing movement to translate and support adaptation policy into law. Not only do these draft and final laws have common themes but they present a compelling example of how adaptation can be addressed within a framework climate change law.
