The first workshop aimed at clarifying the assumptions and conditions related to the attainment of quantified economywide emission reduction targets by developed country parties.1 It included issues such as the use of carbon credits from market-based mechanisms and land use, land-use change and forestry activities (LULUCF), as well as options to increase the level of ambition.
